Cat Sitting in Raleigh, NC
One thing that sets us apart from our competitors is that not only do we do the normal services such as feeding-fresh water and litter box cleaning but we stay for a full hour to socialize and visit with each of our furrie-purrie friends. During this time we play strings-feathers-ball toss and even laser tag. With permission from the pet owner we will provide a treat and a bit of cat nip as we leave. Our goal is to spoil your feline with total pampering.
As you know CATS are special pets for special people. If you do not love felines you will soon discover that they have a very sharp way of letting you know it's not a good match! Cats are independent and aloof but in a flash can be in your lap- your best friend and sound asleep. It is a well known fact that some cats can be very therapeutic and are often used in senior living facilities to cheer up the residents. It is fair to say that cats can be healing fascinating companions to young and old alike.
FELINES will let you know the minute you enter their home that this is their territory and you are just a guest. Some cats will greet you at the door and proceed to rub their personal scent on your leg- others will make a mad dash for the safety net under the bed. A-1 PET CARE lets your CATS personality dictate the terms of our interaction during the visit. Many felines will require several visits before they feel safe enough to become friendly. But we have found that most cats desire social interaction. Just having someone present can help cats feel safe and secure when left alone. If your cat or kitten is receptive we will give he or she a special brushing and cat message. In my many years as a cat owner I have experienced them all- the shy ones-the hiders-the pillow hogs-the lap cats- the scardy cat-the run away cats-the leg huggers- the wall peeiers-the wall rubbers-the nasty cat- the spicy cat- the unfriendly cat-the overactive cat-the lazy cat-the fat cat-the provocative cat- the sneaky cat-the needing cat-the sweet cat-the gentle cat-the under the cover cat-the hard to get cat-the sick cat-the mourning cat- but most of all I have been blessed over the years with LOVING, PURRING LOYAL CATS!
THREE FELINE TIPS
CARRIERS: I recommend the clean plastic carriers that have a secure front door that a cat can look out of. Always insert a towel or blanket in the bottom of the carrier. The blanket should have both yours and the cats scent on it. Top loading carriers work well for cats that are hard to get into a front loader. If your cat is frightened it is better to lightly cover the crate as you transport your Feline. We do not recommend the card board carriers as the cat may escape from such a week container.
FEEDING BOWLS: Food or water can be put in metal-ceramic or plastic. Your bowls should be wide and shallow not small or deep. They should be heavy enough not to move on the floor. If you are gone a lot or your pet is on a controlled diet you may want to check into timed feeders. It is very important to wash your cat's bowl each time you refill it. It is good to run your pet bowels through the dish washer once a week. All food bowls should be kept away from litter boxes.
THE LITTER BOX: Most important is that a large cat needs a large litter box-a small kitten needs a small rather low litter pan. Your cat needs to be able to walk into the litter box and make a complete turn to dig a hole with out kicking out all the litter and not being so close to the edge that he has to dump over the side! Just use common sense for your cat and compare your toilet to his! Some kitties like it private others like the box open aired. If you are gone a lot during the day, you can use an electric self cleaning box if the feline will tolerate the movement and noise. If you do a manual scooping then I recommend a minimum of two times a day and three is even better. It is best to wash your litter box with a safe solution at least once a week...cats are very clean animals and do not like dirty litter boxes. Each cat has its own preference for cat litters...check your pet stores and be ready to experiment until your cat indicates that is the one for him. Most cats do not like scented litter or dusty litter or litter that is unpleasant to soft little paws.
