CUSTOM CAT CARE FROM SLEEP-EAS-ZZ…

Mardella & Neil Currently live in Raleigh North Carolina and are the owners of CUSTOM CAT CARE from SLEEP-EAS-ZZ, an In-Home Pet Sitting Service. Originally from Portland Oregon & Vancouver Washington they spend their early years growing up in the great Northwest. After graduating From Oregon State, Neil continued to work with the State of Oregon at the Department of Environmental Quality Control for the next year. They decided to take a leap of faith when Neil accepted a Federal position with EPA. In 1969 they moved to a small southern town, called Raleigh. Neil began his career as an Environmental Scientist located at RTP and it is here that they would settle for the next 41+ years.

Mardella, a licensed Cosmetologist would opt to become a stay at home Mom and focus on raising five children, creating a beautiful garden, and doing her many craft adventures. As her children became teenagers Mardella decided to go back to school at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary to pursue an Associate of Divinity degree in Christian Education. Being the only female in a class of all males, she felt honored when she was presented with the best associate student award for the class of 1991.

Neil retired after completing 30 years with EPA… as an environmental scientist and a Commander in the US Public Health Care Service. Having provided many years of dedicated and productive service as a federal employee it was a well deserved vacation. After retirement Neil pursued several avenues of employment but eventually would be led by Mardella to start their own business.

Looking for a way to supplement their retirement income, Mardella who was very good with animals, decided to research in-home animal care. She personally had owned over 60 pets in her 60 years on earth…so she was defiantly qualified to become a pet sitter. Thus Custom Cat Care came into existence. Not to be out done by Mardella, Neil goes back to school at 65 on the GI bill and pursued business-accounting to assist with the new business. After five years their pet sitting service continues to grow and services all of Raleigh and several surrounding areas. If you ask Mardella she will tell you that she and Neil are a “TEAM”, and that CUSTOM CAT CARE FROM SLEEP-EAS-ZZ has been a great way to stay ACTIVE in their SENIOR YEARS!
