Posted May 20th, 2019 by daniel

We all love our pets! So, when it comes to finding them the right food, sleep gear, or amusement items, we are constantly on the lookout for the best possible item. And, as with many other parts of our lives, technology is advancing, and a plethora of pet-friendly technology is now on the market.

Here are some of the most popular pet tech items available today.

9 Innovations in Pet Tech You (and Your Pet) Are Sure to Love!

  • FitBark – Much like its human counterpart, the FitBit, FitBark is a wearable that tracks your dog’s activity – distance traveled, calories burned, sleep, etc. -so you can know what they are up to whether you are at home or away.
  • ZenCrate – Designed to help alleviate pet stress, the ZenCrate has motion-sensor activated fans and a calming playlist that is activated when your pet enters the crate.
  • Smart Pet Bed – This pet bed is connected to an activity tracker and works with the Alexa so that you can track your pet’s health and weight with ease.
  • CleverPet Hub – An interactive toy that dispenses treats when your pet accomplished specific tasks/activities. The software will increase in difficulty so your pet is engaged every time they play.
  • ProBowl by Obe – This pet tech gadget has a smart base that connects to your phone through an app. The app then records the amount of water and food your pet consumes, and lets you know if there are any changes.
  • PetNet – This is a smart feeder designed to work for both dogs and cats. It helps you determine how much food your pet needs daily, and then dispenses the proper amount. It will also let you know when your pet has been fed, or when you need to purchase more food.
  • Wagz – This is a dog collar that allows you to keep your pet from wandering off. The collar is connected to your smartphone via an app. In the app, you can draw out property boundaries as well as prohibited zones. If your dog attempts to leave the specified area the Wagz collar will vibrate and send out an ultrasonic deterrent. If the pet actually leaves the designated area, then you will receive a notification and your pet can be tracked using GPS.
  • PetSafe – This is an automatic self-cleaning litter box. PetSafe uses disposable litter trays and rakes away waste. It will also track how often a cat uses it. A similar product is the Lavviebot Purr which automatically cleans up, keeps the litter topped off and filters out any odors.
  • PetCube Play 2– Essentially, a baby monitor for your pets, the PetCube lets you know what is going on and even talk to your pets, when you are not at home.

These are but a few of the latest items in the world of pet technology. Have you checked any of them out? If so, we would love to hear what you think of them, or learn how your pet reacted to them. Shoot us an email or comment about your experience with pet tech!
