THE TUXEDO CAT BALL

Posted April 13th, 2010 by admin

7PM to 11PM on April 16th at the Marbles Museum in downtown Raleigh SAFE Haven for Cats & the SAFE Care Feline Clinic will present their famous TUXEDO CAT BALL.  This social fundraiser celebrates sixteen years of dedicated service to the NO-KILL Cat shelter for stray and homeless Felines.  Tickets are $75.00 per person.  Safe Haven provides shelter for 500 hundred cats a year.  Each cat receives state of the art housing and medical care, sterilization and microchipping.  The long term goal is to place each and every cat in that forever home.

Local businesses come together to support and donate gifts to be auctioned off to the highest bidder and the proceeds go to Safe Haven’s many needs.  This promises to be fun filled in every way!  CONTACT: www.safehavenforcats.org info@safehavenforcats.org 919.872.1128

SAFE HAVEN has a very special story to tell.  Many Years ago I heard of a special person who loved cats had started to pick up strays and was housing them in her home in North Raleigh.  Later on I heard that this was a no-kill cat shelter developing in a two car garage.  As time went on more and more cats found themselves living in this special place.  Soon the shelter began to grow in both reputation and felines…and soon a move was necessary.  All cat’s and kittens were given a large amount of TLC…it did not matter if they were perfect or were scared by the misfortunes of being a feral cat, at Safe Haven they had found a home that was warm and loving.  As the shelter grew and more volunteers came to help…more people came to look and adopt these beautiful cats into there homes.  There goal has always been to provide a warm bed in a safe environment and to provide them with medical treatment as needed…the goal was to save not kill.

The shelter has now become a very important part of Raleigh society.  Many citizens and medical personal now donate time and money to the existence of Safe Haven’s newest facility located off Durant Road in North Raleigh.  Each year Save Haven and it’s sponsors put on the Tuxedo Cat Ball to raise money to continue the special work being done at the shelter.  Many cats and kitten’s in the community have there suffering halted and there dignity restored when they enter Safe Haven.  Safe Haven promotes public education and offers a feline spay and neuter clinic to assist in reducing the cat overpopulation in our city.  All funds collected at the fun filled Tuxedo Ball Auction are returned to the shelter so that there work can continue to service the cats and to find permanent homes of placement as soon as possible.

At the Ball you will not be disappointed because you will experience special hors d’oeuvres and drinks…you will be entertained with music provided by the Swingin Chads and have an opportunity to win a $2,300 dollar diamond & gold tennis bracelet.  The main attraction will offer over 200 hundred items to bid on.  You simply do not want to miss this event!

As most cat lovers know a Tuxedo cat is black and white…thus you to are to be in black or white or a combination of both colors…and do not for get the touch of pink that celebrates Safe Haven’s 16th year of dedicated service to all the felines that have passed through there doors…I know because I have recently adopted three of the most precious cats…we now have eight felines that give so much joy to our home.
